The My Place Hotels of America team recently had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate Aberdeen Lutheran Social Services’ New Beginnings Center basketball court ribbon cutting on Tuesday, August 18th.
The construction of the new courts were a joint effort between a variety of local businesses including My Place Hotels of America, Jensen Rock & Sand, Campbell’s Town and Country Building Supply, B & B Contracting, Inc, RDO Equipment, Stan Houston, Legacy Management, Legacy Builders, MP Technology LLC., New Life Fellowship, and Steel Structures.
This is a huge deal because it’s for our kids. And our kids are just over-the-top thrilled to have the opportunity to enjoy their new basketball courts. We are beyond blessed. Thank you!
Liesl Hovel, Lutheran Social Services Development Director, Northeast Region
These kids come from homes where they don’t have a whole lot. So, to continue to see how the people in our community support our kids and work to ensure they have a fun time just pulls at your heart-strings.
This is a great example of how business-members in the community can get together and provide small amounts of assistance that only better the lives of our people and the town of Aberdeen itself. You can’t put a value on that.
Ryan Rivett, President & CEO of My Place Hotels of America

The event was well attended by local businesses, community members, Mayor Travis Schaunaman, and hosted by the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce.
