The Monthly Rewind: November 2019

Despite the weather getting chillier, we continue to heat up with every new milestone we cross at My Place HQ. From groundbreakings to grand openings, from relationships to friendships, November defined itself as the not-so-calm before the storm of excitement that the end of 2019 is sure to bring us.

From the jump, November 2019 presented itself to us on a silver platter as we began to distance ourselves from an immensely jam-packed October that was as equally meaningful and remarkable as it was busy.

Offering our readers a taste of our incredible afternoon at the Groundbreaking of North Carolina’s first My Place Hotel in Huntersville a couple weeks prior, the official event recap was released featuring unique perspective from Celtic Services, Inc. and MP Huntersville’s Courtney Stephens and Brad Noble on November 4th.

Check out this excerpt from the recap: “I told the audience today that before Aaron (Lawson) became my business partner, he was my neighbor and I used to trick-or-treat at his house growing up,” Noble said. “So, I’ve known him a long time, but more importantly, Aaron is one of the best people I know. When I learned about his work with My Place and got to know the brand, I knew I had to get involved.”

That same day, several members of the My Place HQ team represented the brand in supporting the local Junior Achievement program at their annual Bowl-a-thon in Aberdeen. The team had a great time and tapped Natalie as MVP!

The following day, our pace accelerated as we released the event recap from the Grand Opening of America’s 50th My Place Hotel in Watertown.

Here are some of our favorite photos from the milestone event.

A couple days later, our timelines were blessed with the release of My Place Hotels VP of Franchise Sales and Development Eric Myers’ interview with Elaine Simon of Hotel Management Magazine from the Lodging Conference back in September!

If you get a chance to listen to it, the interview touches on the pulse of the industry, future challenges and what the next year holds for our brand.

On November 10th, our very own Sarah Dinger and Ngoc Thach made their way to New York City to attend HX: The Hotel Experience, powered by AAHOA.

While there, Ngoc and Sarah spent time networking and developing relationships with professionals from across our industry, while also learning valuable information from an impressive list of guest speakers on a variety of relevant topics!

Ngoc got to speak on a panel on the topic of Social Media Marketing, which was very well attended.

Ngoc also had the opportunity to interview past-Interim President/CEO of AAHOA Rachel Humphrey for an upcoming episode of Finding My Place!

In “What We Loved About HX: The Hotel Experience,” we take a look back on the moments that defined Ngoc and Sarah’s experience in New York at HX!

On November 12th, we announced the Groundbreaking of Washington’s fourth My Place Hotel in beautiful Wenatchee, set to take place on November 21st.

A couple days later, we made our way to Kansas to celebrate the Grand Opening of the state’s very first My Place Hotel in Overland Park, which opened as America’s 52nd My Place Hotel in early October.

While there, we had a fabulous time with our friends from True Hospitality, the hotel’s owners, and the community of Overland Park.

Coming Soon! Keep a lookout for the official event recap from the Grand Opening in Overland Park!

The following day, we made one of our most exciting announcements of the month, sharing the news that America’s 53rd My Place Hotel had officially opened in Indiana, marking the brand’s 24th state debut.

A few days later, the My Place HQ team made the trek to Washington to celebrate the Groundbreaking of My Place Hotel – Wenatchee, WA, as announced earlier in the month.

There, we were reunited with our friends from Wenatchee 8 LLC. and were joined by several local dignitaries and members of the community as we broke ground on Washington’s newest My Place Hotel.

To follow-up the excitement in Wenatchee, we announced our next big event the following day: the Grand Opening of My Place Hotel – Plainfield, IN. With the hotel’s leadership and My Place HQ team hard at work in planning the Grand Opening in Plainfield, the evening of December 11th is destined to be unforgettable.

While November will come to a close before we know it, ushering in the holiday season and the excitement of December, we can hardly wait to end the year on a higher note than ever before (think Mariah Carey). We hope you’ll join us as we look forward to a terrific December and make our final marks on 2019.

Here are some things to be looking forward to from our camp over the next month:

  • The Grand Opening of My Place Hotel – Plainfield, IN on December 11th
