Whether it be the fantastic food we ate, the unforgettable moments we shared, or the relationships we celebrated, the afternoon of July 16th was one to remember as we welcomed Michigan’s second My Place Hotel to the Family in the beautiful town of Wixom. Take a look back with us as recapped by My Place Hotels Director of National Sales Erica Karels!

Fast Facts: Michigan’s second My Place Hotel officially opened on May 3rd, 2019, less than nine months after its groundbreaking in Summer 2018! Located at 48881 Alpha Drive, the three-story, 64-unit hotel marked the 46th My Place location at the time of its opening!

The morning of the event, the My Place team came together to decorate and create a welcoming and festive environment for all of our guests and event attendees.

Soon enough it was time to kick off the festivites where we were joined by members of the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, city officials, local business owners, and community members! It was an unforgettable experience to come together with such a diverse group of individuals who were all there for the same reason: to celebrate Wixom’s newest hotel! We were even fortunate enough to have some local photographers attend who curated artwork for our new hotel in Wixom through the #MyWixomPic Contest!

We celebrated the grand opening with music, an Italian food truck (yes, the food was amazing!!), and fun prize giveaways, as well as an artist creating a live painting of our hotel during the event!
With our big moment fast approaching, Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Laura Bolyard, and Wixom Mayor, Richard Ziegler, offered some kind words to the crowd and to the My Place Wixom team! Before we knew it, it was time for My Place Wixom’s ribbon-cutting!

With the ribbon cut, My Place Hotels VP of Franchise Sales and Development Eric Myers shared the brand’s excitement to be a part of the Wixom community and gave a great introduction to the My Place brand and our Stay Rewarded® loyalty program, now available at all of our (nearly 50!) locations across 22 states.
As our festivities came to an end, the rain came to end as well, producing one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen, a clear atmospheric indicator of just how special our afternoon was.
We could not have asked for a better group of people to celebrate our perfect day with. While our celebrating eventually came to an end, My Place Wixom celebrated the day with a successful event and a sold out evening!
