Highlighted by the opening of our 48th and 49th hotel, the announcement of two key brand partnerships with AHLA and BEST, and the rollout of our loyalty program and largest program reveal yet, Stay Rewarded®, June 2019 was a historic month for My Place Hotels. Yet, something tells us we’re just picking up a new stride. Take a look back at what moved My Place forward over the last 30(ish) days in the inaugural installment of our “The Monthly Rewind” blog series.
We started June on a rocket ship with the official launch of Stay Rewarded® on June 3rd. Our rollout included “A Million Reasons to Stay Rewarded” sweepstakes, offering all enrolled members a chance to win their fair share of 1 MILLION points by Staying Rewarded®!
Team members from across the brand came together in true My Place fashion to support and celebrate Stay Rewarded’s big launch! We are so thrilled to see where Stay Rewarded takes us.
Coming off the heels of Stay Rewarded’s monumental launch, our readers were treated to not just one, but two, installments of our Layover Q&A series which highlighted the amazing talents of MPHQ Director of Marketing/Social Nicole Spaeth and MPHQ Director of Brand Loyalty Irene Roberts.
Nicole and Irene gave readers great insight on the development of our loyalty program and all of the ways that they inspire us on a daily basis.
As our layover with Nicole and Irene came to an end, we boarded the next flight with sights on our newest resources. On June 12, we announced our newfound partnership with the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), which would extend membership across all open My Place Hotels.
We were extremely excited to share the great news throughout our network as we joined the sole national association representing all segments of the U.S. lodging industry. Additionally, we were delighted to announce that several of our executives would serve across a variety of AHLA’s influential committees.
Our connection to AHLA would later be highlighted as Sarah Gardner from My Place Altoona reflected on her personal experience as an AHLEF Scholar/My Place team member and expressed the value of AHLA’s abounding list of member resources.
Following the excitement of our announcement with AHLA, we shifted our focus to a place of gratitude as we reflected on our recent support of the remarkably inspiring Straub family and #48forAutism. We also found time to reflect on our meaningful experience in Avondale, Arizona, the previous month.
As if all of the excitement we had experienced in the first half of the month wasn’t enough, we were in for a real treat as we announced the opening of our 48th open location in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin!
Our big announcement in Mount Pleasant was followed up by an announcement of equal meaning and importance to our brand as we took a stand against the practice of human trafficking by officially announcing our new partnership with Businesses Ending Slavery & Trafficking (BEST).
Armed with the bountiful resources offered through the new partnership, the brand announced that all employees across the brand would be given the ability to take a stand against the practice of human trafficking alongside the brand through BEST’s Inhospitable to Human Trafficking training and an awareness week, which will take place in January.
The month came to an end with a trifecta of amazing milestones, which all occurred on the same exact same day. On the morning of June 28, we celebrated our favorite Chief Hospitality Officer Pete’s one year workiversary with the brand through the month’s final installment of The Layover and festivities at HQ!
The excitement didn’t stop there as we announced the opening of America’s 49th My Place Hotel in Hurricane, Utah!
Our day of milestones came to an end with the Grand Opening of My Place Kalispell, where we were joined by a large group of community members and fans as we welcomed the new hotel to the My Place family.
If we’re sure of one thing, it’s that no matter the magnitude of the milestone, we are so extremely grateful for every opportunity we have to celebrate our growth and achievements across our brand as a family alongside our guests, friends, supporters, and everyone else in-between. As we look toward the next month, we can only hope to continue our streak of crossing milestone markers in new and exciting ways and we hope you’ll be here to celebrate them with us!
